SEVENTH ANNUAL \'MEET THE RAPIDS\' DAY TO TAKE PLACE MARCH 24 AT INVESCO FIELD

DENVER (Wednesday, March 20, 2002) â For the seventh consecutive year, the Colorado Rapids will host "Meet the Rapids" Day. This year's event takes place this Sunday, March 24, at INVESCO Field at 3 p.m., giving fans the chance to meet their favorite Rapids players, while getting pictures, autographs and an official 2002 team poster.
Parking and admittance are free to the event. Fans will be directed to Lot C, located to the southwest of the stadium. The south end box office will open at 2 p.m., giving fans the chance to buy 2002 individual, season and group tickets to all Rapids games at INVESCO Field. At 3 p.m., fans should enter through Gate 1.
Official team posters will be available as fans find a seat in the South stands. At 3:15, the 2002 Rapids players, fresh from their season opener in Kansas City the previous night, will walk from the locker room to the South goal line, where general manager Dan Counce and second-year head coach Tim Hankinson will introduce the team and address the crowd about the 2002 season at INVESCO Field.
Around 3:30, fans will be able to join the team on the plaza level behind the South stands to meet and chat with players, get autographs, and take pictures with their favorite Rapids players. Information will also be available on the Rapids Kids Club, Rapids Foundation, Tickets to games, and the Rapids' supporters clubs.
A 5 p.m. ending time has been established, as fans will be directed out of the stadium through Gate 1.
