
Seven Storm Players Honered by UIF

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce that seven Storm players have been honored by the UIF as All-Stars. Three players were recognized on the First-Team and four were honored as Second-Team selections.
The only offensive player on the first team was Storm center John Semchenko. Semchenko is in his sixth season with the Storm and anchored an offensive line that helped the Storm score an average of 45.6 points per game. The Storm offensive line only allowed nine sacks this season, which was the fewest in the league.
UIF Defensive Player of the Year, Nate Fluit was a First-Team selection. Fluit set a UIF record for most sacks in a season with 15.5. On the year, Fluit totaled 46 solo tackles and 24 assisted for 58.0 in 2006. He led the league in tackles for a loss with 23.5 for 103 yards.
Another defensive leader on the First-Team was Mark Blackburn. Blackburn was recognized by the league as a safety. Blackburn is the Storm's career leader in tackles with 423. He added 94.5 tackles this season, which ranked fourth in the UIF. Blackburn helped lead the defense to a UIF record of least points allowed in a season. The "Thunder D" only allowed 384 points this season. Blackburn was a First-Team selection last year at linebacker.
UIF Second-Team All-Stars included league MVP Terrance Bryant at quarterback, UIF Most Improved Player Marques Smith at running back, offensive lineman Nate Scheuer, and defensive lineman Austin Flyger.
The Storm is also pleased to announce Buffalo Wild Wings will be hosting another outdoor tailgate party this Sunday from noon-2 PM. The tailgate party will be held in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot.
Local bank "Vermillion" will be performing live at the tailgate party. "Vermillion" is one of the region's best cover band and has a huge following in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area.
The Storm will open their run to United Bowl II on Sunday, July 23 at the Sioux Falls Arena. Kickoff for the game is schedule for 3:05 PM. A limited number of tickets remain for the game. Tickets are available by stopping by the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office. Fans can also be purchase tickets at any Ticketmaster outlet or online at ticketmaster.com.
