Seven Indians Among MiLB.Com's Pirates Organization

INDIANAPOLIS - The top performers of the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system were announced today by MiLB.com as part of the site's annual organizational all-star awards. Of the 13 players recognized, more than half suited up for the Indianapolis Indians in 2016.

Below are the players who spent all or part of 2016 with the Tribe and their combined season statistics.

First Base - Josh Bell (.295, 14 HR, 60 RBI) Bell's remarkable campaign included hitting for the cycle, multiple grand slams, and his MLB debut (including another slam) for the Bucs. He was a legitimate Triple Crown threat and was named to the Triple-A All-Star Game, but was promoted before participating.

Outfield - Austin Meadows (.266, 12 HR, 47 RBI) Meadows brought a 24-game hitting streak to Indy when he made the leap to Triple-A on June 18. The outfielder battled injury while with the Tribe, but figures to be a key member to begin 2017.

Outfield - Adam Frazier (.333, 22 RBI, 17 SB) Frazier was one of the International League's top hitters before he made the jump to the Show on June 24. He provided manager Dean Treanor with a flexible option in the lineup, appearing in four different positions over 68 games with the Indians.

Utility - Jose Osuna (.279, 13 HR, 69 RBI) Osuna was a late arrival to Indy on June 30, but made a big impact. He was fifth in the IL in extra-base hits during his stint with the Tribe while six of his seven home runs tied or took the lead for the Indians. He is likely to return to Indianapolis in 2017.

Right-Handed Starter - Tyler Glasnow (1.93 ERA, 116.2 IP, 144 SO) Glasnow was named MLB Pipeline's Pitcher of the Year - and for good reason. The righty was nearly unhittable in over 100 innings for the Indians this season while racking up gaudy strikeout totals. He was another Indians player to be voted an All-Star but unable to participate.

*Honorable Mention - Jameson Taillon (2.04 ERA, 61.2 IP, 61 SO) Taillon was a familiar face to Tribe fans, but the hurler would not stick around Indy long in 2016. He went on to post a 3.38 ERA over 18 starts with the Bucs in a much-anticipated rookie campaign.

Relief Pitcher - Edgar Santana (2.71 ERA, 79.2 IP, 71 SO) Santana progressed through two levels to reach Indy on August 1. He continues to turn heads across baseball as a prospect, including his recent selection to the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars team. He is expected to begin 2017 with the Tribe.
