
Seven Canes set to depart for NHL Camps

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes will be without the services of 2007-2008 Captain Ben Wright and forward Dwight King presumably for the remainder of the preseason as both departed this morning for NHL prospects camps. Wright, a former draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jacket's went unsigned this past summer and will now attend Ottawa Senator's camp as a free agent. King was selected in the fourth round of the NHL 2007 Entry Draft by the L.A. Kings and will join their prospects for a tournament in Phoenix.
In total, seven Canes players will attend NHL camps including Wright, King, 2008 first round draft picks Zach Boychuk (#14th overall - Carolina) and Luca Sbisa (#19th overall - Philadelphia) and 2007 4th round draft picks Mitch Fadden (#109th overall - Tampa Bay) and Colton Sceviour (107th overall - Dallas). Fadden and Sceviour will attend the Traverse City NHL Prospects tournament with their teams while Carter Bancks will have his first NHL experience as a member of the Atlanta Thrashers prospects team.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes are very proud to partner with the Lethbridge United Way for the Canes only preseason date of the 2008-2009 season. The new look 'Boys from the Bridge' will take to the ice on Saturday, September 13th at 7:00 PM for a match up with the Kootenay Ice. All proceeds from this charity event will go to support the Lethbridge United Way. Tickets are selling now for $10 a piece and are available at the United Way office (1277 3rd Ave South) or at various participating business sponsors including: Sobeys (Uplands and Scenic Square), KFC (All locations), Evergreen Golf Centre, Pizza Hut and Humpty's (Scenic Drive). Season Ticket Holders should also note, this game day will be your first opportunity to pick up your season ticket packages for the 2008-2009 season. The "Meet the Hurricanes" Breakfast for Season Ticket Holders will take place the morning of Saturday, September 13th, 2008 9:00am to 12:00 noon.
