Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan - A pair of former Western Hockey League all-stars are back practicing with the Regina Pats, getting ready for their NHL camps.

Jamie Heward (Pats 1987-91) has inked a free-agent try-out contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning after spending last season with St. Petersburg SKA of the Russian Elite League.

Kyle Deck (Pats 2002-07) spent last season between the University of Regina and the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League. Next week, he will be heading off to Michigan for a free-agent try out with the Detroit Red Wings.

Regina Pats General Manager Brent Parker says, "It's always a treat to have some of our alumnus back working out with the current members of our team. It is important for our players to understand the history, pride and tradition of this franchise and the responsibility they have to uphold it and having former players around helps with this"

Both Heward and Deck will be practicing with the Pats for the rest of the week, with sessions running from 3pm to 5pm today, Wednesday and Thursday.
