STORYLINES

- 2022-23 Wranglers are the first team in Amarillo junior hockey history to sweep their schedule at the NAHL Showcase. The 6-and-0 start is the best start for an Amarillo junior hockey team.

- Eight Wranglers score their first NAHL goals in the first six games: Preston Brighton, Jack McDonald, Jack Ivey, Trevor Faucher, Roman Zap, Ryan Ginger, Rihards Simanovics, and Ben Ivey.

- Two Wranglers get NAHL Honors. Nikolas Campbell and Luca Ganz were named 'Honorable Mentions for this week's Stars of the Week.

- The Wranglers are the only remaining undefeated team in the NAHL.

- Wranglers and Mudbugs split last year's season series 4-and-4. 2 of Wranglers' wins came in the shootout last season.

- Amarillo has held opponents to just one goal in four of their first six games this season.

- The Wranglers will have the next two weeks off before their home opener against Shreveport on Oct. 14.

- The Wranglers have a +14 goal margin in six games. The +14 mark

WRANGLERS BY THE NUMBERS

- WHAT A START : The 6-and-0 start is the best start in the 13-year span of junior hockey in Amarillo

- Wranglers Offense : Amarillo has a +14 goal margin in five games. The +14 ranking is the best in the division.

- Limiting Chances : The Wranglers have allowed more than one goal in only two of their first six games of the season.

- Special Teams : Amarillo killed off 3:35 of penalty time in the 3rd period in Friday's win. The Wranglers have only allowed three power-play goals in the first six games of the year.

Recap/What's ahead

The Wranglers will have the next two weeks off after sweeping the Shreveport Mudbugs last weekend. With a 6-and-0 start to the season, Amarillo is the only undefeated team in the NAHL.

Amarillo defeated the Mudbugs to start South Division play with a 4-to-1 win, where Carter Clafton earned his third win of the season with a 25- save outing. Luca Ganz led the way Saturday night in a 2-to-1 win, where Ganz made 30 saves in regulation and overtime and held the Mudbugs off the board in the three-round shootout. Ben Ivey scored his first career NAHL goal in the 2-to-1 win Saturday night. Nikolas Campbell and Luca Ganz were listed as Honorable Mentions for the South Division 'Stars of the Week'.

The Amarillo Wranglers will host a season ticket holder event this Thursday evening at the Amarillo Civic Center. Fans will get a chance to pick up their tickets for the season and meet the players and coaches for the 2022-23 Amarillo Wranglers. Media members will have an opportunity to interview players, coaches, and staff during this event.

The part will be at the Corral inside the Civic Center and will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
