
Senators To Hold Auditions For 2010 In-Game Host

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators today announce that the team will hold auditions for their in-game host on Wednesday, February 10th, at the Harrisburg Mall. The event will run from 5-7 PM, and feature a Q&A session with the new Senators' manager, two-time World Series Champion, Randy Knorr. Knorr will also sign autographs at the event.
The in-game host will be the most recognizable staff member for the Senators throughout the season. He or she will be responsible for introducing fans to the ballpark, officiating on-field contests, and interviewing winning fans after prize giveaways. Potential hosts who take part in the audition will read from a script, and Senators' employees will act as judges.
The in-game host will work all 71 home games, stretching from the home opener on April 15th through the Senators last home game on August 29th. The Senators are looking for someone that enjoys working with all types of people, is energetic, and loves to be the center of attention. A passion for Senators baseball is also a plus.
The script is below:
Hey Senators fans, I'm (your name here) and thank you for coming out to Metro Bank Park tonight. It's a Friday, which means tonight is all about Flatscreens and Fireworks. We'll be giving away a flat screen TV every inning so be sure to sign up for your chance to win. After tonight's game, we'll be having another awesome Fireworks show thanks to Metro Bank. So sit back, relax and let's cheer on the Senators!!!

Knorr, a former catcher for five Major League teams, won two World Series titles with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992 and 1993. He played in 253 Major League games over 11 seasons. He managed the advanced-A Potomac Nationals in 2008 and served as the bullpen coach for the Washington Nationals in 2006 and 2009. Fans will have the opportunity to question Knorr directly, as well as obtain autographs, during a portion of the two-hour event.
Metro Bank Park is currently undergoing renovations as part of phase II of a two-phase project announced in December 2008 by the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Senators. The 2010 season opens on the road in Altoona (Pirates) on Thursday, April 8th with the home opener set for Thursday, April 15th at 7:00pm against the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins). For the first time since 1988, the Senators are hosting the Eastern League All-Star game. All the stars are coming out on July 14th at newly renovated Metro Bank Park.
