Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - Harrisburg Senators' RHP Tanner Roark is the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for games July 25 through July 31. Roark is the second Senators pitcher to win the award this season as Brad Peacock did twice earlier this year. This is the first weekly award of his professional career for the 6'2" starter.

Roark posted a 2-0 record in both games he started this week, pitching a total of 14 1/3 innings against the Bowie Baysox and Binghamton Mets. In the combined appearances, he maintained a 1.88 ERA with 10 strikeouts. Roark went 8.0 innings with seven strikeouts and allowed just one unearned run in his start against Bowie on July 25.

The Wilmington, Illinois native has an overall record of 6-7 with a 5.47 ERA since returning from extended spring training back in May. He was selected in the 25th round of the 2008 draft by the Texas Rangers. Roark was acquired last season along with RHP Ryan Tatusko in a trade that sent IF Cristian Guzman to Texas in July of last season.
