Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release

As the preseason schedule comes to a close, the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies gear up for their final preseason game against University of South Florida on Saturday, April 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the USF Soccer & Track Field.

For Head Coach Paul Dalglish, this final preseason game represents the culmination of six intense weeks of training out in Land O' Lakes and at Saddlebrook Resort.

"We're expecting a performance that is as close to 100% as possible. We should be as good as we're going to be in the regular season," said Dalglish.

In the weeks leading up to this Saturday's game, the players' training has been focused on learning principles, styles of play and an intense fitness regimen. Dalglish expects to see all of the rigorous training drills come together in a strong performance against the Bulls. "I'm looking for the players to perform like it's the opening game of the season. Tactics, fitness, technique...really everything has been the focus this week to get them geared up for our last preseason match."

The preseason has been pleasing overall for the Rowdies Head Coach, who noted the Rowdies consistency in goal scoring opportunities in each previous game. As successful as the team has been the past couple of weeks, Dalglish explained that they are anticipating a tough battle from the USF Bulls, who are considered one of the best college soccer teams in Florida.

"We know that the USF players will be playing their best because it is a great opportunity for them to show their talent. We're definitely expecting another tough game on Saturday," said Dalglish.

With the support of the boisterous Ralph's Mob and Bulls fans, a high turnout is expected for the game, which is always seen and heard by the Rowdies team on the field.

"We definitely are hoping for an excellent turnout. Ralph's Mob has been great so far and made it enjoyable for everyone going, they make a big difference with the crowd. We appreciate the outpouring of support for our team from our fans," said Dalglish. "It should be a great game, which will give fans a glimpse into the Rowdies performance at the opener against Baltimore."

The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Prior to the game from 6 to 7 p.m., USF is hosting a soccer clinic for children ages seven to 11-years-old. The clinic costs $10, which includes admission to the game, and participants are asked to bring a soccer ball to use.
