Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, Ind. - Rusty the RailCat, the mascot of the Gary SouthShore RailCats, spends the majority of his offseason waiting for baseball season to get underway but is so excited about all the fun everyone will have this upcoming season that he will be taking a more proactive role in getting the word out about RailCats Baseball.
Sure Rusty makes his share of appearances all over Northwest Indiana, but starting next week, be on the lookout for Rusty throughout the Region for your chance to be featured in a RailCats video and win some cool prizes. From Tuesday, March 29 until Opening Day on Friday, May 20, if you see Rusty somewhere besides U. S. Steel Yard and you scream the catch phrase, "Rusty Rocks My Socks Off!" you will instantly win an awesome prize, while supplies last on that day. Look for Rusty at some of your favorite every day locations or who knows, he might just show up at your work one day, but either way be sure to have that catch phrase ready!
The RailCats open the 2011 season on the road against the Grand Prairie Air Hogs on Thursday, May 12 and return home to beautiful U. S. Steel Yard on Friday, May 20 for Opening Night at 7:10 p.m. featuring "Burning Man" Ted Batchelor presented by McDaniel Fire Systems. Tickets to Opening Night as well as season tickets, group packages, mini-plans and flex packs are all available now by calling 219.882.2255 or visiting www.railcatsbaseball.com.
