2011 Open Tryouts to Take Place April 30

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport-Bossier Captains have scheduled their 2011 open tryouts for Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at Fair Grounds Field. The tryout will be conducted by Captains coaches and some players. At least one tryout participant will receive an invitation to spring training with the club, which begins May 1.
In 2010, four players earned roster spots for spring training and two made the opening day roster. One of them, catcher Glenn Wilson, remained with the team all season, helping Shreveport-Bossier take the 2010 American Association championship.
Registration begins at 1 p.m., costs $25 and includes a Captains T-shirt. Participants must bring all of their own gear.
