HICKORY, N.C. - Two former ACC gridiron greats will show off their baseball skills at L.P. Frans Stadium this weekend when the Hickory Crawdads host the Asheville Tourists! Former Clemson QB Kyle Parker and former NC State QB Russell Wilson will lead the Tourists against the Crawdads in the season opening series in Hickory from Thursday - Sunday!
Both players were two-sport stars in their ACC days, and are now fully committed to baseball. Parker hit 20 homers and batted .344 in his final baseball season at Clemson, after tossing 12 touchdowns for the football team and leading them to a 6-6 regular season record and an appearance in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Parker was selected by the Rockies in the 2010 June draft and will man the outfield as he climbs through the Colorado system.
