
Intimidators Season Begins Tonight in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (April 7, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will begin the 2011 South Atlantic League season tonight when they take on the defending champions, the Lakewood BlueClaws, a Philadelphia Phillies affiliate, at 6:35pm at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J. The Intimidators, who finished last season 65-74, feature 14 returning players who spent time in Kannapolis in 2010.
Starting the season opener for the Intimidators will be 23-year-old right-hander Ryan Buch, an 8th round draft pick by the White Sox in 2009. Buch spent last season pitching for both Kannapolis and Bristol, the White Sox affiliate in the Appalachian League. Combined he finished 7-4 last season with a 2.97 ERA (31 ER/94.0 IP).
Buch will be joined in the Intimidators starting rotation by right- hander Jacob Petricka, a 2nd round draft pick in 2010; left-hander Spencer Arroyo, a free agent aqcuired last April; right-hander Matt Heidenreich, a 4th round draft pick in 2009; and right-hander Kevin Moran, a 9th round pick in 2010.
The Intimidators will play four games at Lakewood (April 7-10) followed by four games at Delmarva (April 11-14), before returning home to take on the Hickory Crawdads in a four game series beginning Friday, April 15th.
