WHAT: The Metropolitan Grill hosts Seattle Storm players at the debut "Cheers for Charity" event. A portion of the proceeds from the event

will benefit the Kids Assist Ticket Donation Program.

DETAILS: Following the Seattle Storm's noon game at KeyArena against the Indiana Fever, WNBA All-Star guard and U.S. Olympian Sue Bird, 2003 WNBA MVP and Australian Olympian Lauren Jackson and their teammates will bartend and mingle with guests in the bar at the Metropolitan Grill.

The Storm players will serve up beer and spirits, including a "Summer Storm" signature drink and, in honor of Jackson's native country, Australia's Fosters Lager. Guests can also make donations to Kids Assist by purchasing mini-basketballs signed by Bird and Jackson, as well as a limited- edition, autographed Storm team photo.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the evening and all of the proceeds from the sale of mini- basketballs and team photos will be donated to Kids Assist Ticket Donation Program, a charitable donation program that allows individuals and corporations to purchase Storm tickets for underprivileged children and local non-profit organizations in the Puget Sound area. Kids Assist offers the opportunity to experience the WNBA and exposure to positive female role models.

The Seattle Sonics and Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises - the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm - and oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations, broadcast production, and basketball operations for the teams.
