San Antonio Stars News Release
THIS WEEK'S GAMES:
Thursday, July 15 vs. Connecticut Sun @ SBC Center 7:00 p.m. The Ticket 760 AM
This will be the first of two matchups between the Silver Stars and Sun. Connecticut holds a one-game advantage in the all-time series, but the Silver Stars have split four home games against the Sun. Last season the Sun defeated the Silver Stars 84-64 in their first meeting since both teams relocated to their current cities. The two teams will meet again on Sat. July 24 when the Silver Stars make their first ever trip to Connecticut with tip-off scheduled for 11 a.m.
Promotions/Giveaways: Dad and Daughter Night - Fans can purchase 2 tickets for $10 (with voucher). Discount ticket vouchers can be picked up at any participating Pizza Hut restaurant. Inside the Huddle - Fans in attendance will have the chance to get up close and personal with a Silver Stars player or coach during a Q&A session hosted by the "Voice of the Silver Stars" Andrew Monaco approximately 15 minutes after the game and will usually last 15-20 minutes
Sunday, July 18 at Detroit Shock @ The Palace of Auburn Hills 11:00 a.m. Oxygen Network, The Ticket 760 AM
This will be the second and final meeting between the Silver Stars and Shock. The Shock won the first contest this season, 73-60, in San Antonio on May 22. The Silver Stars are 2-3 alltime in Detroit and look to even up the series with a win. San Antonio has lost three straight to Detroit, but prior to last season had taken three in a row against the Shock.
LAST WEEK'S GAMES:
Friday, July 9 vs. Los Angeles Sparks L 66-61
After taking a 25-22 lead at halftime the Silver Stars could not hold on against the streaking Sparks who won, 66-61, for their fifth consecutive win ... Los Angeles had a 57-55 lead with 2:12 remaining and Nikki Teasley made her third three-pointer to push the advantage to five points 34 seconds later, capping a decisive 16-6 run ... LaToya Thomas scored 19 points and Agnieszka Bibrzycka added 14 for San Antonio.
Monday, July 12 at Seattle Storm L 75-59
The Silver Stars led 33-29 at halftime, but the Storm used a 12-0 run to start the second half ... San Antonio pulled within 49-47 midway through the second half on Gwen Jackson's layup, but the Storm responded with a 16-6 surge to take control for good ... Margo Dydek matched a season high with 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds ... LaToya Thomas added 12 points and Adrienne Goodson 11 as San Antonio lost their fifth straight.

On Wednesday, July 14 Silver Stars Head Coach Dee Brown, guard Semeka Randall and guard Shannon "Pee Wee" Johnson drop by to make a special appearance at the Silver Stars Basketball Camp at St. Mary's Hall.
