COLLEGE PARK - The College Park Skyhawks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, have announced season tickets are now available, with select tickets starting at only $10 per game. The 24 home games will be played in the new, state-of-the-art Gateway Center Arena @College Park, a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue that will seat 3,500 fans for Skyhawks games set to open in the fall. The G League season runs November through April with approximately two-thirds of the games scheduled on weekend dates. Children aged three (3) and under qualify for free tickets. "We are so excited by the support and interest we have seen from the South Atlanta community about the College Park Skyhawks" said Steve Koonin, CEO of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena. "We take great pride in offering a high-level basketball-and-entertainment product that a family of four can enjoy for just $40 in what will soon become the G League's top facility."
In May, the franchise announced that GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artist Tauheed "2 Chainz" Epps had agreed to join the ownership team of the Skyhawks and debuted the franchise's logo. In July, the Hawks signed Charlie Brown Jr. to a two-way contract, a designation that allows Brown to play primarily for the College Park Skyhawks but spend up to 45 days with the Atlanta Hawks, not including any time prior to the start of College Park's training camp and at the conclusion of the Skyhawks season.
Brown Jr., a 6'7" forward, played two years at Saint Joseph's, and as a sophomore this past season, averaged 19.0 points (leading the A-10), 6.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 35.6 minutes (.430 FG%, .356 3FG%, .845 FT%) en route to Second Team All-A-10 Honors. He averaged 14.7 points on .460 shooting and 3.0 rebounds in three games for the Hawks during the 2019 NBA Summer League.
