Brazos Valley Bombers News Release

Bryan-College Station, TX (June 24, 2015) - For the second night in a row, the Brazos Valley Bombers scored double-digit runs; plating 17 runners tonight to win by a score of 17-1 over the Texas Marshals.

Tonight also marked the third time this season in which the Bombers scored at least 16 runs. Designated hitter Garrett Benge and Left fielder Matt Valdez stood out on offense for the Bombers on a night where offense was not in short supply. Benge went 3-4 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI's. Valdez came on as a pinch-hitter in the 7th, but was able to make an impact in his time on the field tonight going 2-2 with 3 runs scored, and a three-RBI triple.

On the mound for the Bombers was Tyler Stubblefield, making his Bombers debut. Stubblefield was very effective in his first appearance, pitching 5 strong innings, only allowing two hits and one run while striking out 9 Marshals hitters. Evan Karre and Ryan Mose shut the door out of the bullpen tonight, combining for four innings of shutout baseball. The Bombers improved their record to 14-4 this season, remaining in first place in the TCL.
