Seals Fall to Division Leaders 12-9

San Diego Seals News Release
The San Diego Seals fell to the Saskatchewan Rush, 12-9, on Sunday afternoon at Pechanga Arena San Diego. San Diego drops to 1-4 on the season after Sunday's loss.
"It's the same old stuff so far this season," said general manager and head coach Patrick Merrill. "We found ourselves chasing the game because we make mistakes that we should be able to avoid. You play a good team and they make you pay for that. We just dig ourselves in hole, climb out of it somewhat, then we make a few avoidable mistakes and they make us pay."
San Diego's offense was a group effort with Connor Fields, Jeremy Noble, Connor Kearnan and Wesley Berg each netting a pair of goals. After cutting Saskatchewan's lead to one goal a few times throughout the afternoon, the Seals couldn't complete the comeback divisional win.
"The message after today is, we have to find ways to get better, however that is," continued Merrill. "That's going to come from guys doing the work during the week. As coaches, that's us doing our work on film and providing some more situational stuff so there's not so much pressure when they catch the ball. But for me, those type of mistakes are more between the ears, they're more mental mistakes. These guys are the best lacrosse players in the world, so to see them drop passes like that, it means to me that it's mental."
The San Diego Seals will head East to face the Halifax Thunderbirds on Saturday, January 18 then the New York Riptide on Saturday, January 25. Join the Seals as they Dive In to Sin City on Saturday, February 1. Reserve your seats today at SealsLax.com/Vegas.
