Florida Seals News Release

Orlando – Mike Fournier netted the game-winner and Jason Elders notched a goal and two assists as the Orlando Seals won their second straight game Friday night, a 5-4 victory over the Lakeland Loggerheads.

Lakeland got on the board first with Chris Harper's 7th goal of the season, an even strength tally from Garrett Dionne and Evan Levi at 5:23 of the first period.

The Seals came charging back with three goals later in the period. B.J. Stephens tied the game 1-1 at 8:05 with his team-leading 20th of the season after Elders turned over the puck at the Lakeland blue line. Elders was credited with the only assist on the play.

Elders and Jamie Muswagon added goals in the latter half of the first period for a 3-1 Seals lead going into the first intermission.

Lakeland came back in the second, as Rob Schweyer netted a power play goal only 29 seconds into the frame for a 3-2 game. Jeff Glowa tied the game 3-3 in the third period on his 3rd goal of the season.

Orlando surged ahead a little later in the period, as Chris LiPuma and Fournier each scored to put Orlando up 5-3. Lakeland would get one back at 6:24 on Schweyer's second of the game but that would be all the Loggerheads could muster, giving Orlando the 5-4 win. The Seals move back into second place in WHA2 standings.

These two teams meet again tomorrow night in Lakeland at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday afternoon, the Seals will host Orlando's largest Super Bowl pregame party at 1:05 p.m. when they host the Jacksonville Barracudas. Fans who arrive wearing any NFL team apparel will get a FREE ticket with every ticket they purchase.
