Seacoast Mavericks Announce Chief Maloney Night

Portsmouth, NH- The Seacoast Mavericks have announced that Saturday's July 28, 2012 game against the Nashua Silver Knights will be to honor the late Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney. This night is coming off of the heels of the first annual Chief Michael Maloney Memorial Golf Classic to be held Friday July 27, 2012 at Breakfast Hill Golf Club in Greenland, NH. The Game will take place at Leary Field in Portsmouth NH. Both events will benefit the Chief Michael Maloney Memorial Fund, Inc., in support of C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), wounded officers, law enforcement scholarships, general education scholarships, and community needs. Tickets to the game can be purchased in advance by calling 603-431-6700 or at the gate the night of the 28th.

Chief Michael P. Maloney passed away on Thursday April 12, 2012 while protecting his community and fellow police officers. Maloney was a 26 year law-enforcement professional who was well respected in his community, and by fellow law-enforcement professionals.

The Mavericks opened up the first of their six games in Portsmouth this past Friday night where they honored Chris Anderson Senior in a game the Mavericks won 3-2 against the top FCBL team, the Nashua Silver Knights.

The FCBL is summer collegiate baseball at its best. Already regarded as one of the most talented and competitive leagues in the country, the following franchises make up the FCBL: Brockton Rox, Martha's Vineyard Sharks, Nashua Silver Knights, North Shore Navigators, Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide, Pittsfield Suns, Seacoast Mavericks, Torrington Titans, and Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.
