
Sea Wolves Acquire Defenseman Peto, Sign Defenseman Brooks

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Thursday that they have acquired defenseman Kyle Peto from the Florida Everblades in exchange for future considerations and that they have signed defenseman Chris Brooks.
Peto played in six games with the Everblades this season recording a goal and two assists and registering a plus-5 rating. The 25-year-old was in his first season with the Everblades after playing the 2007-08 season in England with the Basingstoke Bison where he registered 22 points (2g, 20a) in 39 games.
Prior to heading to England, the Lethbridge, Alberta native won a Kelly Cup Championship with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL in 2006-07 by finishing off the regular season with 21 points (8g, 13a) in 47 games and skating in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Brooks is in his third season as a professional, after having played in 51 games with Yale University, scoring six assists and adding 52 penalty minutes. In his rookie season of 20-07 with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, Brooks appeared in 49 games, notching three assists and accruing 47 penalty minutes. A 6-3, 220-pound native of New York, NY, Brooks split last season between Wheeling and Augusta of the ECHL, scoring seven points (1g, 6a) in 69 games.
The Sea Wolves are on the road this week, visiting South Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Gwinnett at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, and Charlotte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
