Reid Cashman Loaned To Wheeling

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins announced today the addition of skilled defenseman Reid Cashman according to team President Jim Brooks. Cashman is being assigned to the Nailers from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

Cashman is a 6'2" 205 pounder with a left-handed shot from Red Wing, Minnesota. He has played in 4 games with the Baby Pens this year registering 2 assists and 6 penalty minutes. The Quinnipiac University product played in the ECHL last year with the Columbia Inferno scoring 5 goals and 22 assists with 60 penalty minutes in 41 games. He also received a call-up to the AHL's Toronto Marlies where he played in 8 games.

At Quinnipiac he led his team in scoring his sophomore season in 04-05 with 45 points including 32 assists and 13 goals in a 37 game season. Cashman will be wearing uniform number 5 for the Nailers.

The North Division leading Nailers are back in action this weekend with a pair of games this Friday and Saturday night at the Cincinnati Cyclones. Wheeling is back at home Wednesday, November 26 against the rival Johnstown Chiefs at 7:05pm.
