
Sea Dogs set single game attendance record Thursday

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs recorded their first sell out of the 2006 season Thursday night against the Connecticut Defenders (Giants). The sell out was the first since 393 seats were added to the ballpark during the off-season, making Thursday the largest attended game in franchise history as 7,368 fans made their way to the ballpark. The Sea Dogs previous attendance record was 6,978 set on May 20, 2006.
The Sea Dogs added 393 seats to Hadlock Field this past off-season by creating the U.S. Cellular Pavilion in right-field. The additional seats brought the capacity of Hadlock Field to 7,368, making Hadlock the fourth largest ballpark in the Eastern League.
The Sea Dogs have now attracted 4,955,728 fans in the franchise's 13 year history as the countdown is on to the team's 5 Millionth Fan. The Sea Dogs need 44,272 more fans to reach the milestone which should come sometime in early July. The 5 Millionth Fan will receive a prize package from the Sea Dogs highlighted by two tickets on JetBlue Airways to anywhere JetBlue Airways flies.
The Sea Dogs will welcome the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) to town for a weekend series beginning Friday night at 7:00 PM. Tickets to Sea Dogs games can be purchased by calling the sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or on-line at www.seadogs.com.
On Friday, June 23rd the Sea Dogs will host a free autograph session in Monument Square in Portland from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, sponsored by Time Warner Cable.
