
Sea Dogs Bury Maineiacs

LEWISTON, ME -- Nicholas Petersen capped off a four point night to lead the Saint John Sea Dogs to a 7-4 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs Sunday evening at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The win extends the Sea Dogs winning streak to 15 games.
Lewiston scored the first goal of the game on a Michael Chaput deflection in front to give the MAINEiacs the early 1-0 lead. The Sea Dogs then scored three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead early in the second period. The MAINEiacs took advantage on the power play at 12:28 of the middle stanza, when Matt Boyle ripped a shot from low in the circle past Sea Dogs netminder Karel St-Laurent pulling Lewiston within one. The goal was Boyle's first of the season.
Petersen scored twice in the third period to cap off the hat trick, and secure the Saint John win 7-4. Lewiston was outshot 42-20 in the game. For a complete game recap CLICK HERE
Lewiston will look to get back on track Wednesday evening on the road in Shawinigan.
