
Sea Dogs Announce 2007 Schedule

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs, Class AA Eastern League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have announced their schedule for the 2007 season. The Sea Dogs will open the 2007 season at home against the Connecticut Defenders on Thursday, April 5th at 6:00 PM.
The Eastern League season consists of 142 games (71 home and 71 away) against 11 opponents. The 2007 season is the Sea Dogs 14th year in Portland and fifth as a Boston Red Sox affiliate. Last season the Sea Dogs averaged a franchise record 6,358 fans per game and sold out 20 games.
Highlighting the 2007 schedule will be three visits to Hadlock Field by the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) and three visits from the Sea Dogs neighbor to the south the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays). The Thunder will come to Hadlock Field for a total of ten games (April 16-April 18, May 7-9, and August 27-30). Meanwhile the Fisher Cats will also make trips to Portland in 2007 for 10 games (April 27-29, June 30-July 3, July 23-25). The Sea Dogs will also play the Fisher Cats 18 times in New Hampshire.
The Sea Dogs will be home on Easter (April 8th at 1:00 PM), Patriot's Day (April 16th at 4:00 PM), Mother's Day (May 13th at 1:00 PM) Memorial Day (May 28th at 1:00 PM), and Father's Day (June 17th at 1:00 PM). The Sea Dogs will be on the road on the Fourth of July. The Sea Dogs are home on Tuesday, July 3rd and will have a 6:00 PM game with Fireworks.
Individual Tickets for the 2007 season will go on sale at the Hadlock Field Box Office on Saturday, November 4th at 9:00 AM. Phone & Internet orders will begin on Monday, November 6th at 9:00 AM. Ticket prices remain unchanged from last season. Box seat tickets are $8.00 for adults and $7.00 for kids and seniors, reserved seat tickets are $7.00 for adults and $6.00 for kids and seniors, and general admission tickets are available for $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids and seniors. Standard game times this year will remain the same. April and May weekday games will begin at 6:00 PM, while weekend games will be at 1:00 PM. In June, July, and August weekday games will start at 7:00 PM, Saturday's at 6:00 PM, and Sunday's at 1:00 PM. In addition, the Sea Dogs will play four 12:00 noon games on April 18th, May 9th, July 25th, and August 9th.
The 2007 schedule once again promises to be filled with many fun and exciting promotions. Although the promotional schedule is not yet determined, the Sea Dogs will once again have a series of firework shows, bobblehead doll giveaways, and bring back traveling acts like the ZOOperstars, Christopher, and Skyy Dogs USA. The 2007 Eastern League All-Star Game will take place on July 11th in Norwich, Connecticut, home of the Connecticut Defenders (Giants).
