San Angelo Saints News Release

San Angelo, TX – The San Angelo Saints of the Central Hockey League are proud to announce that Scott Reid, the 2003-2004 CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender has been named the league's first "Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week".

Reid was stellar in both games played this weekend making 56 saves while facing 59 shots. "It is a great honor to be named Goalie of the Week" said Reid, "it is more like a team award, I would not have had a chance with a great defense in front of me." Reid's performance is main reason the Saints have started off the season with a 2-0 record after defeating defending league champions, the Laredo Bucks, Friday night and the Odessa Jackalopes on Saturday night.

"Scotty became a proven player last season for us, making his way into the number one spot and coming up huge for us towards the end of last season" stated Saints Head Coach Ray Edwards. "I am sure we will see more great things out of him as the season progresses."

Reid will receive a "Goalie of the Week" cap compliments of Oakley that will be presented before the next Saints home game on November 9th @ 7 PM. The Saints travel this weekend to play games in Odessa Friday night and Laredo on Saturday night. Both games can be heard on 103.1 Kickin Country. The next home game will be Tuesday, November 9th @ 7 PM versus the Amarillo Gorillas. To get your tickets, call the Saints Box Office at 325-658-6464.
