Reno Silver Sox News Release

The Reno Silver Sox were swept by the Yuma Scorpions last night, June 17, in the final game of the three game series 6 - 2.

Yuma took the lead in the second inning with a two-run homer off of Silver Sox starter Dusty Bergman. Bergman finished the night pitching seven innings, giving a break to the Silver Sox bullpen that had to go 11 innings the night before. The Scorpions would score five runs off of Bergman on ten hits.

Sent in to relieve Bergman was Jason Martinez who pitched one inning, allowing one run on two hits.

The Silver Sox were once again lead on offense by DH Jose Rodriguez. Rodriguez homered for his third straight game and ended the night going 2-5 with one run scored and one RBI.

The Silver Sox return home tonight, June 18, after a long seven game, eight day road trip. The Silver Sox will take on the visiting St. George Roadrunners in the first meeting between the two teams. Game time for both Monday and Tuesday is 7:00 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
