Scorpions Announce Training Camp Schedule

ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League today unveiled the team's training camp schedule. The Scorpions take the ice for the first time this Monday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at Blades Multiplex Arenas in Rio Rancho. In addition, the Scorpions will play a pair of preseason games. Next Friday, Oct. 11, the Scorpions will return to the Genoveva Chavez Community Center on Rodeo Rd. in Santa Fe to host the Lubbock Cotton Kings. Faceoff is 7:05 p.m. Tickets for the game cost $7 and are available by visiting the Scorpions Team Store, 6300 San Mateo Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, in the Far North Shopping Center. They can also be purchased in Santa Fe from the Santa Fe Trailrunners Youth Hockey Association (SFTYHA) at the Chavez Community Center on Monday, Oct. 7 and Thursday, Oct. 10 from 3:30-6 p.m. Proceeds from the game benefit the Trailrunners. The Scorpions wrap up the preseason on Saturday, Oct. 12 with a trip to Amarillo to face the Gorillas for a 7 p.m. faceoff. "We're excited to finally get on the ice as a team," said Scorpions Head Coach/Vice President of Hockey Operations Pat Dunn. "It's been a long summer but I'm happy with the team that Travis Van Tighem and I have put together. It'll be fun to see everybody on the ice together, getting to know each other."
