Schwartzman Sets Single-Game Saves Mark in Outlaws' Week 1 Win

Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER - Outlaws goalie Jesse Schwartzman picked up right where he left off in 2013 when he led the league in goals against average and save percentage, turning away 32-of-41 shots on goal to set a new team record for saves in a single contest.
The 32 saves tops the previous Denver record of 29 that was set by Trevor Tierney on Aug. 5, 2006 at Chicago. Schwartzman's previous career high was 27, which he recorded June 29, 2013 vs. Charlotte.
His 32 stops would have been one shy of the all-time league single-game record, however that mark was broken in Saturday's contest by Launch goalie Brett Queener, who made 35 saves. The previous MLL record in that category was 33 saves, shared by Kevin O'Brian and Brian Dougherty. That record had stood since the 2004 season.
Leading the way offensively for Denver in the team's 14-10 Week 1 win at Florida was Chris Bocklet, who posted five goals in the contest. Drew Snider, Eric Law and Jeremy Sieverts each added a pair of goals with one of Sieverts' coming from two-point range. Justin Pennington, Sam Snow and Mike Simon rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece.
Denver's win was the team's 21st straight victory in the regular season. That streak dates back to the 2012 season.
The Outlaws open the home portion of their schedule on Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. MDT. The team will celebrate "May the Fourth Be With You" with a Star Wars theme for that contest.
Denver will be representing the Rebel Alliance with orange X-Wing Pilot jerseys and Ohio will represent the Imperial Storm Troopers with their white jerseys. All of the jerseys will be signed and auctioned off after the game with all proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. The Outlaws collaborated with Lucas Films and Warrior on the design of the jerseys. See below for photo renderings of the jerseys.
Tickets for this historic game start at just $12 and can be purchased online or at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High box office.
