CHL Tulsa Oilers

Schedule Slows Down

January 4, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

One Game: The Tulsa Oilers will see a lighter schedule this week with just one game. The Oilers play at Wichita on Friday at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and viewed at CHL TV.

Final Hurrah: Friday's game will be the Oilers final visit to the Kansas Coliseum. The two teams came back into the CHL when it reformed in 1992. Wichita is moving into a new arena, and the Oilers next visit there on January 23rd will be the first game played at the INTRUST Bank Arena.

Contrast: At the other end of the spectrum of just one game this week, the Oilers are coming off a four game week in which they went 2-2-0. The Oilers beat Rio Grande Valley 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday; defeated Mississippi 3-2 in overtime on Thursday, lost a rematch to Mississippi 5-3 on Saturday and then dropped a 3-1 decision to Amarillo on Sunday.

Hats Off: Adam Bartholomay scored all three Oiler goals in Thursday's win against Mississippi. It was the Oilers second hat trick of the season. The first was also against Mississippi by Rob Hisey on opening night on October 16th.

Speaking Of: Hisey, the Oilers had to play last week's games without as he was called up to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. He scored goals in each of his first three games with them and has three goals and one assist for four points in four games with Springfield.

Mager Win: Goaltender Marty Magers had the most saves in any game in the CHL this season when he stopped 54 of 55 shots last Tuesday against Rio Grande Valley. Magers also stopped three of the four shootout attempts he faced in that game.

Tickets Here: Tickets for all Oilers games are available at the BOK Center box office or by calling 1-866-7BOK CTR (726-5287). Tickets can also be purchased on line at www.tulsaoilers.com and at area Reasor's Grocery Stores.
