Green Bay Gamblers News Release
The Green Bay Gamblers announced they will be changing their name to the Green Bay Cheese for their game on Saturday, March 5, 2016. The team will be wearing special edition cheese themed jerseys, game socks and player names will be changed to various types of cheese.
"The game will be a celebration of the strong cheese heritage in Northeast Wisconsin" says Gamblers Team President Brendan Bruss. "From the jerseys and socks to the names on the back of the jersey, cheese will be the main theme."
Cheese curds will be available for purchase at Resch Center concession stands. A running total will be kept to see how many pounds of cheese curds are consumed that night. Promotions throughout the game will also focus on cheese.
"For the first time in Resch Center history, fresh cheese curds will be available. Given the fondness for curds, I am confident our audience will eat their fair share."
Jerseys will be available for purchase after the game via a "Live" auction.
It's also Festival Foods Family Night featuring $2 jumbo dogs, $1 soda and discounted tickets for children 14 and younger.
Game time between the Cheese and Muskegon Lumberjacks is set for 7:05 PM. For tickets go to www.gamblershockey.com or stop by the TicketStar box office at the Resch Center. Box office hours are 11:00 - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, and 11:00 AM to the start of the third period on game days.
