VISALIA â Tony Miller lined a the game winning double to the left center field gap in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Oaks topped Lancaster 3-2.
Mike Esposito pitched eight innings and allowed only two runs on seven hits, but did not get a decision. Alex Serrano struck out the last two batters in the top of the ninth inning with a runner at second base and was awarded the win.
Visalia tied the game in the bottom of the eighth in an infield single by designated hitter Bryan Peck. Hector Tena, who had the first of three Oaks hits in the inning scored the tying run when third baseman Dan Uggla charged the bouncing ball hit by Peck and slipped to the ground as he reached the ball.
Justin Lincoln led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and moved to second on Jeff Winchester's sacrifice bunt. Lincoln scored the winning run.
Lancaster took a 2-0 lead in the third when Esposito allowed three consecutive singles to start the inning. Sergio Santos, who had the first of those hits scored on a pass ball. Jamie Jones also singled and crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly to left by Bryan Johnson.
Jayson Nix doubled to lead off the fourth inning for Visalia and scored on an infield single by Peck.
1,492 is the third largest crowd of the season at Recreation Park. It is the first non-sellout this year to eclipse 1,300.
