Spokane Shock News Release

July 3, 2007: Spokane, WA: The arenafootball2 league announced today that Spokane Shock WR Antwone Savage was selected as the Schutt's Offensive Player of the Week for week 14.

In a crucial divisional battle, Savage led the Shock to their highest point total in franchise history with a 76-57 victory over the Central Valley Coyotes. Savage's eight touchdown receptions tied the af2's record for most touchdown receptions in a game and also broke the club's record previously held by WR Raul Vijil.

Savage also led the team in receiving yardage (195) and receptions (13).

Savage leads the Shock in ever receiving category, despite sitting the Boise game in week 13 with a leg injury that has nagged him all season. Savage believes the rest was just what the doctor ordered.

"This was a great game - I sat out last week just for this reason. This was a great way to come back," Savage said.

This is the second time that Savage has won the award this season (he also won it in week 10). Savage is the second Shock player to win a weekly award this season. Nygel Rogers was named the league's ADT Defensive Player of the week in week 13.

The Shock have a bye this week but return to action on July 14th to host their final home game of the regular season with against the Tri-Cities Fever. The Fever are currently in second-place in the Western Division, a game and a half behind the Shock. A few tickets remain for the game and can be purchased through TicketsWest by calling 325-SEAT.
