Sauk Valley Predators News Release
Two local Predator basketball players attended a "Family Reading Night" at Lincoln-Douglas school in Freeport, IL last night. Jeremiah Box and Devan Bawinkle attended with Predator owners Brad and Leah Grenoble and their daughter Jade. Last night's reading night had a basketball theme attached.
Each player took turns reading pages from 2 different books. The children were able to ask questions and interact with both players. "My favorite part was when a lot of the kids asked me to pick them up to touch the rim" stated Jeremiah Box. He also said he wanted to give them "hi-fives" at the end of the night, but he got a lot of hugs instead!
Each child received a raffle ticket to win a basketball and book autographed by the team. One little girl whispered "I wish I would have brought something for the players to autograph", and guess what' Her ticket was the winning ticket! "The excitement and smile on her face was priceless", stated Leah Grenoble, Owner/Director of Operations. "What a way to give back to the community that is going to support us with three home games this season".
The Sauk Valley Predators will start their 2012 season on Friday, January 6th at the Sterling Public Schools gymnasium. Check out the full schedule and team info at www.saukvalleypredators.com today!
