Sauk Valley Predators News Release
The Sauk Valley Predators announce a new player to their organization, 6'11 260 lb. Taverius Wilkins, a center from Wilberforce University in Ohio.
Taverius, otherwise known as "T", played at Austin High School in Chicago, IL and led Austin to a 17-14 final record during his senior season. He averaged 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks per game. The left handed post player was a two-time all-conference selection for the Tigers and also competed on Austin's boys' volleyball team.
Taverius has soft hands around the basket and has a very reliable jump shot out to 17 feet. He has a
knack for collecting offensive rebounds as he is always hanging around the basket. Has a quiet
demeanor on the court, but developed a mean-streak to his game. Defensively, he is a shot blocker who
will help the interior game of the Sauk Valley Predators. Most recently Taverius played in the EBA over
in Spain for Club Baloncesto Villamuriel.
"We are planning on Taverius' size to help us down low offensively and his blocking ability to help us defensively", stated Brad and Leah Grenoble, team owners. " We are really looking forward to our two games against the Diesels this weekend".
The Sauk Valley Predators' next game is away on Saturday evening vs. the Indiana Diesels. Individual and season tickets can be purchased online at www.saukvalleypredators.com. You can also view the other Predator players and full schedule.
