The Sauk Valley Predators proudly announce their first season opener game against the Indiana Diesels on Friday, January 6th at the Sterling Public High School gymnasium in Sterling, IL. The excitement is building for all our area basketball fans to meet the Predators for the first time! There will be 7 home games played at the Sterling gymnasium and an additional 3 at Highland Community College in Freeport, IL. All home games will have individualized themed nights which will involve all our surrounding communities and fans. "The community support has been unbelievable and I continue to get excited each time I talk to a business about advertising with our team" stated Brad Grenoble, Owner and GM for the Predator team, "we would like to thank them by announcing the following appreciation nights".
These games include appreciation nights for our "teachers", "healthcare workers", " businesses", a game to honor "all those that serve and protect us" and a "girls' night out". Other fun nights will include a special game for our "school rivalries", "kid's day", "white out" and the season will end with our "jersey off the back night".
The Premier Basketball League (PBL) has rolled out a new divisional play model that puts games within driving distance. The Predators are part of the Midwest division which includes the Central Illinois Drive from Bloomington, the Chicago Muscle, Indiana Diesels, Northwest Indiana Stars and the St. Louis Phoenix. With the NBA still in lock-out status, fans and agents have been looking at the Premier Basketball League to fill the gap for their communities and players. Leah Grenoble, Owner and Director of Operations stated that "All Premier Basketball League games will be streaming live on the internet as well as mobile devices through the league's partnership with @SportsTV Network".
