Dubois County Bombers News Release
HUNTINGBURG, Ind. - Jasper's own Spencer Sapp will the take mound the Dubois County Bombers for Sunday's 6:15 p.m. game against the Hannibal Cavemen at League Stadium.
It is also Family Night, meaning orange- and red-backed chairs are discounted two dollars, and general admission tickets are one dollar off.
Sapp, a left-handed pitcher who starred playing high school baseball at Jasper, recently finished his freshman year at Indiana University and has pitched for the Bombers all summer.
Proving himself to be a versatile member of the Bombers' pitching staff, Sapp has appeared in 12 games overall, seven of which were starts, and posted a 6.12 ERA while going 1-2. Sapp has also recorded a save.
Spencer started the season strong, throwing seven shutout innings of two-hit ball against. Springfield back in the home opener on May 30, but he struggled to find consistency as the season progressed.
Things may be turning around for Sapp, however, as he allowed only one earned run in seven innings versus the Western Division-leading Terre Haute Rex on July 22.
So come out and watch a local athlete lead the playoff-bound Bombers for a discounted price of admission Sunday at 6:15 p.m.
