Santa Cruz Warriors Announce 10th Anniversary in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors announced today that the 2022-23 NBA G League season will celebrate the teams 10th anniversary in Santa Cruz. After playing the 2020-21 NBA G League season in the Orlando, Florida, single site, the 2022-23 season will mark 10 seasons playing in Santa Cruz. On June 28, 2012, the Santa Cruz Warriors unveiled their name and logo after relocating from Bismarck, North Dakota, where they were previously named the Dakota Wizards when the team was originally purchased by the Golden State Warriors in 2011.

The Santa Cruz Warriors 2022-23 NBA G League season, presented by Kaiser Permanente, will feature a variety of elements that pay homage to the Warriors 10 years in Santa Cruz, including commemorative fan giveaways, exciting content stories from past seasons, special guests and more.

"The bond that has been formed between the community and the Warriors is far stronger than anyone could have ever imagined when we arrived in 2012," said Santa Cruz Warriors President Chris Murphy. "We have accomplished so much in our 10 years in Santa Cruz, and we are looking forward to celebrating with our fans throughout next season."

Santa Cruz has featured 32 NBA Callups during its tenure along with 40 assignment players, including nine players from the 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. The team has reached the NBA G League Playoffs seven times and won the 2015 NBA G League Championship.

Santa Cruz has been named the NBA G League Franchise of the Year three times since the award's inception in 2017-18, including back-to-back honors in 2020-21 and 2021-22. The team has won the NBA G League Social Responsibility Award twice for their Sea Dub Classics program (2019-20) and Swishes for Dishes program (2020-21), both presented by Kaiser Permanente. Santa Cruz plays its home games at Kaiser Permanente Arena (140 Front St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060).
