Sankey and Simpkins Receive Week Seven Honors

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors of the United Indoor Football (UIF) league announced today that Ben Sankey was named Offensive Player of the Week and Maurice Simpkins earned special teams Honorable Mention for their play against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in Week 7.

Sankey went 16-of-24 for 186 yards and five touchdowns in the May 5 match-up. Overall this season, he is 134-of-193 for 1,531 yards and 25 touchdowns. Sankey currently leads the league in passing average per game (255.2 yds/g) and total offense (1,561 yds).

Maurice Simpkins received special teams Honorable Mention for his play last week. Simpkins is currently second in the league in tackles (45.0) and tied for third in interceptions (3).
