UIF Players of the Week Announced

May 9, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF) News Release


Omaha, NE - United Indoor Football is pleased to announce that Ben Sankey, Terrill Mayberry and Marcus Smith have been named the three Players of the Week for week seven. Sankey led the Raptors to a victory over the Ohio Valley Greyhounds to receive Offensive Player of the Week. Mayberry was voted as the Defensive Player of the Week for his play against the RiverCity Rage and Smith has been named Special Teams Player of the Week for his play against the Omaha Beef.

Ben Sankey (ROC) went 16-24 for 186 yards and had five TD's. The Raptors will face the Lexington Horsemen on the road this week.

Terrill Mayberry (BLO) had seven solo tackles, one assist, 7.5 total tackles, one interception and two pass breakups. The Extreme have a bye this week.

Marcus Smith (SCB) had 53 return yards off of missed field goals, 75 yards on kickoff returns, three solo tackles, two assists, and four total tackles. The Bandits will be on the road against longtime rival Sioux Falls.

Receiving Week Six Honorable Mentions are: Offense, James Walton (BLO); Defense, Leif Murphy (SFS); and Special Teams, Maurice Simpkins (ROC).
