
Sand Gnats to hold silent auction

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Savannah Sand Gnats will hold a silent auction on Friday to benefit the Sand Gnats Scholarship Fund as the Gnats battle the Rome Braves at 7:05 p.m.
Items up for bid include 2007 Sand Gnats season tickets, Haverty's furniture and donations made by the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Jacksonville Jaguars and various South Atlantic League teams.
The auction will be held in the first-base concourse during Friday night's game.
The Sand Gnats Scholarship Fund was established this season to benefit local college-bound high school seniors needing financial assistance to further their education. Each applicant must demonstrate involvement in his or her community or school and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
