
Augusta grabs win over I's

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC--The Intimidators lost game one of a four game series against Augusta, by a final score of 7-2. Fernando Valenzuela's solo jack to right was not enough for the I's in the loss. The homerun was Valenzuela's 9th of the season. Ricky Brooks allowed 3 ER in 7 IP. Despite the solid pitching, he took the loss, falling to 8-10 on the year. Aaaron Cunningham went 1-4 to extend his hitting streak to 7 games. Kanekoa Texeira and Alex Woodson each made their Intimidators debut out of the pen. Each allowed 1 ER in 1 IP. Ben Copeland of Augusta hit a solo homerun off Brooks, his 4th homer of the year. The Intimidators have now lost 10 straight.
The I's will try to end that streak as they continue on in a 4 game series with Augusta tomorrow night. Jose Zazueta starts for Kannapolis. The game will begin at 7:05pm.
