
San Jose Skyrockets head to the Philippines for player tryouts

San Jose, CA. The ABA San Jose Skyrockets professional basketball team today announced their first free agent tryouts in Metro Manila, scheduled for October 15th. Tryouts will draw top local basketball players in the Philippines at the Ultra basketball complex in Pasig, Metro Manila.
"The tryouts will showcase some of the best Filipino basketball players to expose their skills with the intention of playing for the San Jose Skyrockets," said Kazumi Hasegawa, Skyrockets CEO and President. "The tryouts are being coordinated by SVI Search, recruitment and sports marketing firm based in San Francisco, California."
Registration begins at 830am. Tryouts will take place from 9am until 12pm. For directions, please visit our website at www.sjskyrockets.com. Hoop it Up will provide the basketball jerseys and the games will be coordinated by Ravi Chulani, a local basketball agent and entepreneur based in Manila.
"We are very excited about working with the San Jose Skyrockets and the possibility of giving players from the Philippines the opportunity to play professional basketball in the United States," said Girish Mirchandani, Founder of SVI Search (www.svisearch.com), and an active Board member of the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce. SVI Search specializes in building teams for companies that range from technology companies, media companies and professional sports organizations. SVI Search is setting up the tryouts in Manila with the assistance of local alliance partners.
Assist Me, an American performance apparel company, is co-sponsoring the event. Additionally, Assist Me will be launching a new venture at the end of the year with the aim of uniting athletes regardless of sport, position or level of play.
