San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson and Equipment Manager Mike Aldrich announced today that Vinny Ferraiuolo has been hired as the team's assistant equipment manager.

Ferraiuolo (FAIR-ee-oh-loh) spent the last four seasons as the head equipment manager for the Worcester Sharks, San Jose's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Now in his 14th season working in hockey, Ferraiuolo previously worked for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) and the Providence Bruins, including their 1999 Calder Cup Champion team. He was named equipment manager for the 2000 and 2009 AHL All-Star Classic for the PlanetUSA squad.

The Roanoke, VA native also served as the assistant equipment manager for the New York Islanders and the head equipment manager for the Texas Wildcats (formerly of the ECHL) and the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

He worked his 1000th professional hockey game on Feb. 19 in Binghamton while with Worcester.

Ferraiuolo, 32, replaces Rick Bronwell, who recently became the assistant equipment manager for the Minnesota Wild.
