HARTFORD, July 14, 2010: The Hartford Wolf Pack announced today its schedule format for the 2010-11 American Hockey League season, as well as six home-game dates that have been guaranteed to the team by the AHL.
The Wolf Pack's format of opponents is highlighted by ten games each (five home, five away) vs. GEICO Connecticut Cup adversary the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, as well as traditional regional rivals the Providence Bruins and the Springfield Falcons. The Pack will play the rest of the Atlantic Division, the Manchester Monarchs, Portland Pirates and Worcester Sharks, eight times each (four home, four road).
The Wolf Pack will take on the new Charlotte Checkers four times (two home, two road) in 2010-11, and will also have four battles with the Adirondack Phantoms and the Norfolk Admirals. The rest of Hartford's Eastern Conference schedule will be comprised of two games each (one home, one away) vs. the defending Calder Cup-champion Hershey Bears and fellow East Division opponents the Albany Devils, Binghamton Senators, Syracuse Crunch and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
For a second consecutive year, the Wolf Pack's only action against the Western Conference will be a pair of games (one home, one road) each vs. Canadian entries the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Toronto Marlies.
The six 2010-11 dates on which the Pack are guaranteed a home game are: Friday, October 22; Sunday, November 7; Saturday, November 13; Wednesday, December 29; Saturday, January 1 and Saturday, January 15.
The Wolf Pack's full schedule of specific 2010-11 game dates will be announced later in the summer.
