SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego Wave FC heads to Florida to face the Orlando Pride on Friday, August 25, at 4:00 p.m. PT, at Exploria Stadium. The match will be broadcasted locally on FOX 5 and streamed nationally on Paramount+.

This past weekend, Makenzy Doniak and Amirah Ali helped the San Diego Wave to a 2-1 win over NJ/NY Gotham FC at Snapdragon Stadium. Doniak scored her third goal of the season in the 17th minute to open the scoring, assisted by midfielder Jaedyn Shaw. San Diego was able to double its lead in the 85th minute when second-half substitute Amirah Ali scored her second goal of the season off a sequence started by San Diego native and 15-year-old Melanie Barcenas. Gotham pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but San Diego earned all three points in the return to regular season.

On the international stage, San Diego Wave forward Sofia Jakobsson will return to San Diego with a World Cup bronze medal after defeating Australia 2-0 in the third-place matchup on Saturday. Jakobsson recorded two assists in the tournament to help Sweden to its second consecutive third-place World Cup finish.
