SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego Wave Fútbol Club (8-5-4) defeated Houston Dash (7-5-4) tonight 3-1 in front of a sold-out crowd for their last match at Torero Stadium. San Diego Wave FC brought the heat with a statement three-goal win with goals scored by Alex Morgan, Amirah Ali and Sofia Jakobsson.
"I can't be any more proud of the players and the way they reacted, the players who came on and made a difference, all the players that prepped throughout the week. I think their reactions to back-to-back defeats has been incredible."
Casey Stoney, San Diego Wave FC Head Coach
Houston's Ebony Salmon opened the scoring early in the 7th minute with a shot from inside the box for the away side's lone goal of the night.
Wave FC responded quickly in the 13th minute to even up the scoreline. Forward Alex Morgan beat the keeper with a stunning left-footed shot to record her 50th NWSL career goal and 12th of the 2022 season. Morgan now leads the Golden Boot Race once again, followed by Sophia Smith who has 11 goals.

In the 67th minute, after a lot of action inside Houston's box, Amirah Ali finally put the ball in the back of the net from close range to push Wave FC ahead 2-1. Assisted by Makenzy Doniak, Ali's game-winner was her second regular season goal and second goal in the last three matches as she rises into form.
In the 90th minute, Sofia Jakobsson made a breakaway run and beat the keeper one-on-one for her first-ever club goal. The shot came in from a tight angle and was assisted by Doniak, her second assist of the night.
