San Diego Sockers Match Notes: vs. Ontario Fury, January 5, 7:05pm
January 5, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
San Diego Sockers News Release
The Sockers moved into first place with their 8-1 win over Turlock last night. Ontario and goalkeeper Chris Toth visit San Diego for the first time this season. The highly anticipated return of the former Sockers goalkeeper to Pechanga Arena SD fuels the rivalry which features two of the best goalkeepers in the league, him and Boris Pardo.
San Diego's offense is coming together after a slow start. The team has scored 24 goals in the last three games, after scoring only 13 in their first three contests.
Pardo enters the match with a 3.27 GAA, just below Toth's 3.38 average. The pair were #1 and #2 in the league last season.
Fans will only have to wait six days for the rematch at home. The Fury return to take on the Sockers on Friday, January 11, 7:35 for Retro Night. The team will be wearing the iconic 1980s era uniforms.
