San Diego Gulls Clinch Berth in 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs

With tonight's San Jose Barracuda overtime loss in San Antonio, the Gulls (36-22-3-2) have clinched a berth in the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs. The Gulls have qualified for the postseason in their first American Hockey League season. The Anaheim Ducks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate has now reached the postseason 12 times in 19 seasons, most recently in 2013-14 with the Norfolk Admirals [affiliations in Norfolk, VA (2012-15), Syracuse, NY (2010-12), Des Moines, IA (2008-09), Portland, ME (2005-08), Cincinnati, OH (1997-05) and Baltimore, MD (1995-97)].

San Diego currently sits in second place in the Pacific Division.
