
B-Sens Drop 4-2 Decision Despite Stellar Play from O'Connor

UTICA, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators fell 4-2 to the Utica Comets despite a 48-save performance from goaltender Matt O'Connor.
Following a scoreless first period with the B-Sens being outshot 21-5, Brandon Marino put his 3rd goal of the year past O'Connor to make it 1-0. Utica added two more goals over a two minute span with the first coming from Kellen Jones followed by Alex Friesen scoring his 13th of the year. Binghamton responded with two power-play goals coming from Jason Akeson over the span of two minutes to bring it to a 3-2 game. The B-Sens went to the locker room for the final intermission trailing by one goal and being outshot 14-10.
Utica pushed the game to a final 4-2 score after Alexandre Grenier put home his 16th goal of the year with five minutes left to play. Binghamton remained outshot 17-8 in the final period.
O'Connor allowed just four goals on 52 shots faced while Richard Bachman earned the win with 21 saves.
